Frequently Asked Questions

What is our COVID-19 policy?

As of June 2023, we no longer have a COVID-19 policy per se. CatSat's care provider received Pfizer COVID-19 vaccinations in Mar 2021, Apr 2021, Nov 2021, and Sept 2022 and has never had symptoms of COVID-19, nor tested positive, as of July 2023.

How many care providers does CatSat have?

For now, just one! It’s the way our clients (and kitties) like it best.

Can I book visits for precise times of day?

For healthy cats not on medications, typically, no. If your cat requires medications every 12 or 24 hours, we will accommodate precisely-timed visits plus or minus an hour on each side. For insulin injections/glucose testing, we time visits with strict precision but may charge an additional fee at our discretion depending on factors such as your location, ease of access, holiday schedule, etc.

For cats not on meds, CatSat routinely visits any time within a 5-hour window of your choice: Morning (7a-12p), Midday (12p-5p), or Evening (5p-10p). Accommodating more precise visit times for all clients is impossible with a single care provider, while the benefits of having a single, consistent care provider are well-known to cat parents. CatSat keeps careful track of each kitty's feeding needs each day, and our clients know it's the high quality of service and care, rather than precise timing, that matters most to healthy kitties and keeps them happy.

If you are highly concerned about the precise timing of your kitty's meals, we recommend investing in wet- and/or dry-food autofeeders for your cats. In fact, we recommend autofeeders for virtually all cat households, along with foraging toys and puzzle feeders, to optimize cats' mental and nutritional health every day of the year, regardless of your work or travel schedule. Whether you have competitive cats, bullies, overeaters, picky eaters, wet food, dry food, treats, even a dog in the house...there is a quality, modern autofeeder for virtually any nutritional, social, or multipet situation. CatSat frequently introduces our clients to new autofeeders and aids in the selection, procurement, setup, programming, and acclimation of kitties to appropriate ones successfully.

See Services, Rates, and Hours for more details.

What are the windows of time that CatSat visits kitties?

This will vary according to season, holiday, daily schedule, daily route, and level of demand on any given day, but in general:

Morning window — Approximately 7:00 am to 12:00 noon.
Midday window — Approximately 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm.
Evening window — Approximately 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

CatSat clients happily allow a degree of latitude and flexiblity due to unpredictable Atlanta traffic and the geographical constraints and logistics of our routes, which are different every window and every day. This is because they know without doubt or worry that their kitties and homes will have everything they need and more, when they need it, every day and between each fun, enriching visit.

Can I Meet and Greet with CatSat before booking?

Yes, an in-person Meet and Greet is required prior to a prospective client’s first booking and also when an existing client moves into a new home we haven’t yet visited. We often cannot accommodate extremely last-minute bookings for brand new clients without a Meet and Greet first, so plan ahead to ensure enough time. If you’re moving soon, request a Meet and Greet with us after you’ve moved.

Does CatSat board kitties?

No. We are strictly an in-client-home care provider performing discrete daily visits. Cats almost always benefit most from staycationing in their own homes rather than being boarded; however, if you absolutely desire boarding, we recommend Camp Kitty in Decatur, GA, 30030.
